Bellevue Bistro – Can the Food Make Up For Everything Else?

11 Jul

I’m always on the lookout for new breakfast/brunch spots.  I love breakfast and the one thing my husband and I do is always, always take the time to sit down Sunday mornings.  Whether we stay home and cook or go out varies but the one constant is that we always have breakfast before going grocery shopping, running errands, cleaning, etc.

We had gone out Saturday night to my cousin’s graduation party/cookout and then headed to The Stand in Mt. Lookout to relax and enjoy the night.  After getting home and passing out, we were pretty fuzzy on Sunday morning, exacerbated by the fact that I woke up at 9 am and couldn’t get back to sleep.  Which means neither did he (Not that I had anything to do with that, I swear.  Maybe I accidently nudged/shook him and I might have been thinking aloud/insisting we head to breakfast but eh).  I just couldn’t motivate myself to make anything and we played the normal back and forth game of where do you want to go/where do you want to go?

After checking out my favorite site, Urbanspoon, Bellevue Bistro caught my eye.  Check out their website and menu here. Am I the only one who looks at menus for fun?  I think you can tell a lot about a place’s character/vibe by what they’re serving.  BB seemed to be beckoning me with the promise of something delicious and different than the normal eggs and hash browns fare.

The New Dancing Wasabi

7 Jul

Last night we were walking around Hyde Park Square around 9 pm and I was being extremely indecisive (much to the annoyance of the husband) about what I wanted for dinner.  I was looking at Poco a Poco or Teller’s but finally decided to just grab sushi.  So we walked over to Beluga only to discover that…Beluga is no longer Beluga but has become the second Dancing Wasabi!  Click on the logo to go to their website.

Abuelo’s for Lunch

29 Jun

So my day has been stressful to say the least.

First I woke up late, like an hour later than I had planned. The original plan was to get up 30 minutes early, prep the patties for tonight’s dinner, throw together my school stuff, and enjoy my breakfast.

Ehhh…no. After waking up super late, I rushed around the house getting ready. Scarfed down a breakfast burrito, grabbed my school bag, and ran out the door. I didn’t get dinner prepped. I forgot my lunch. And I forgot my antibiotics – which I had forgotten to take, realized I had forgotten to take so then grabbed said pills and threw in with my lunch – which I then left at my house. *sigh* All reasons I hate to wake up late.

Bright Side: I did make it to work on time and was in fact 3 minutes early.

Either way, lunch time rolled around and I’m starving. I work off of Mason-Montgomery and for anyone that’s ever been up this way, the street is filled with a plethora of possible food options. I opted for Abuelo’s since I hadn’t been in three years or so. Continue reading

Mac’s Pizza Pub – Clifton

28 Jun

Mac'sPizzaPubLogoHa! So first night after setting up this blog I meant to go home and make Sesame Ginger Pork Patties for dinner (new untried recipe).  What happened instead?  After working all day, I drove from Mason to Eastgate to meet the new husband at the bank, and after 40 fruitless minutes was unable to get added to his account (long story with me already paying off old bank accounts two years ago and them still not updating ChexSystems).  Needless to say me = frustrated.  Extremely frustrated.

So after all this, my friends text me and invited me to meet them at Mac’s.  The angels sang “Ahhhhh” – manna from heaven. Choices: drive another 30 minutes home (to arrive at 7:30 and then cook dinner/clean on top of that) or drive 25 minutes to sit down, relax with friend, and have pizza and drinks, hmmm….

Off to Mac’s we went.
